The engineering choice behind the FM READY is expansion, not just filtration.
Sleeve filtration uses a lighter, more open fabric medium than a bag collector, arranged in cylindrical elements that give a large filtering surface in a compact housing. That makes sleeve media well suited to variable loads: it does not need the heavier fabric weight a bag collector uses to handle sustained coarse chip, which keeps the FM READY's footprint and cost down for shops whose dust load moves around from job to job.
The modular part of the design is architectural rather than just marketing language. Additional sleeve modules can be engineered onto the existing housing and duct run as machine count grows, instead of decommissioning the unit and specifying a larger one from scratch. That matters most for millwork and joinery operations, where the jump from one changeover-heavy cell to a second production line often happens faster than a facility plans for.
